![]() The Orca is getting its base mining yield reduced significantly but it is receiving its own Industrial Core similar to that of the Rorqual's Industrial Core. The 10% bonus to Drone ore mining yield was incorrectly removed from the trait description. It will still be the single best option to bring to any mining site for optimization purposes but will no longer be scalable.Ĭapital Industrial Ships bonuses per skill level 6% reduction in Drone ice harvesting cycle time, decreased from 10% This will move the Rorqual back to its previous role of on-field support. The Rorqual's solo mining yield is being tailored to be more in line with Mining Barges. Removed 2% reduction in Strip Miner duration. Mining Barge bonuses per level 2% bonus to Strip Miner YieldĦ% bonus to ship shield hitpoints, increased from 5% Only affected attributes/bonuses are listed. This hold is a generic hold that allows for all harvestable resources to be held inside it (Asteroid & Moon ore, Gas, and Ice). □ The 'Ore Hold' has been renamed to the 'Mining Hold'.At the same time, we're significantly improving the yield and survivability of the mining barges, with the goal of enabling the miners of New Eden to make more interesting choices about the ships they choose to fly. ![]() We are addressing the power of these high-end ships to bring them more in-line with the Mining Barges, allowing them to be the centerpiece of mining fleets, rather than being the whole mining fleet. The large ships had such an advantage, they suppressed the value of ore across New Eden. There wasn't much interesting choice, and these ships were so dominant there was little room for smaller miners in the ecosystem to make meaningful income. For a long time, the choices in mining ships were limited, with players rushing to the high-end ships with the most survivability and largest yield - in particular, the Rorqual in Nullsec and the Orca in Highsec. We're updating the balance of mining ships to change the way players approach mining in New Eden.
